As the premier business group in the Greater Phoenix area, representing over 2,400 active members of all sizes throughout the Valley, the Chamber views electing local leadership that understands the importance of creating a business-friendly environment that allows our economy to thrive as a top priority for our organization. The Mayor of Phoenix plays a critical role in setting an example by advocating for smart economic development, educational opportunities for all, and safe neighborhoods that support strong communities.
The Greater Phoenix Chamber proudly endorses Daniel Valenzuela for Mayor of Phoenix because we are confident he will lead our city as a strong advocate for the business community. We encourage our members to support Daniel in the runoff election on March 12th.
A native Phoenician, Daniel’s story is one of consistently overcoming adversity. As a child, he was raised by a single mom and attended 13 different public schools in Phoenix as his family moved across the city. Often times, Daniel was expected to lead his family even at a young age and his experience instilled the leadership traits we see in him today.
Inspired by the first responders who saved his mother’s life, Daniel went on to become a firefighter and serve his community with honor. In 2011, Daniel was elected to the Phoenix City Council on a platform of bringing people together and truly representing his community.
From leading the fight to hire more police officers, to creating the Code PHX program which teaches coding to young Phoenicians and serving as Chair of the City Council Economic Subcommittee at a time of unprecedented growth in our city, Daniel has shown he has what it takes to get results. He has been a thoughtful, yet pro-business voice on the Council and shown there is still a way to get things done in government.
Daniel Valenzuela has earned our endorsement for Mayor of Phoenix and we strongly believe he is the best candidate to work with pro-business groups to advance economic development in our region. Please join us in supporting Daniel Valenzuela for Mayor of Phoenix in the runoff election on March 12th.
